KATHMANDU TRIENNALE 2022 (KT 2022)
Kathmandu Triennale 2022

The Kathmandu Triennale 2022, also known as Kathmandu Triennale 2077, was held from February 11 to March 31, 2022, and marked a significant milestone in Nepal's contemporary art scene. Organized by the Siddhartha Arts Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, the triennale featured over 130 artists from more than 40 countries, making it the largest international art event in Nepal. The event took place across several key venues in Kathmandu, including Patan, Boudha, and Kathmandu, and offered a platform for global dialogue on issues such as decolonization, migration, and the impact of social and political changes on art. The triennale was curated by Cosmin Costinas, the Artistic Director, with Sharareh Bajracharya asDirector, alongside Sheelasha Rajbhandari and Hit Man Gurung as co-curators. The event emphasized themes of displacement, cultural reinvention, and the redefinition of global art practices. Through a rich program of exhibitions, artist talks, and workshops, the Kathmandu Triennale 2022 fostered meaningful exchanges between artists, curators, and the public, positioning Kathmandu as a growing hub for contemporary art in South Asia.
