Mithila Murals: A conversation with artists Madhumala Mandal, Manjula Thakur, Rebati Mandal, Sudhira Karna and guest speaker S.C. Suman

KT2077 is delighted to present another instalment of our KT Kurakani series of artist talks. Please join us for a discussion about the indigenous practice of Mithila painting and mural-making with artists Madhumala Mandal, Manjula Thakur, Rebati Mandal and Sudhira Karna, members of the Janakpur Women’s Development Center. They are currently on a 15-day residency with us in Kathmandu producing a mural for KT2077 at Taragaon Museum. They will be joined in conversation by guest speaker S.C. Suman, whose own practice is inspired by and derived from Mithila traditions.

This public event will primarily be held in Nepali. A recording of the event will later be uploaded to Kathmandu Triennale’s YouTube page and website.
