A multidisciplinary collective of young artists, designers, and flmmakers that work across cities and borders, The LAB is based in Darjeeling and brings local youth together to archive oral histories through flm. Set in the forests and mountains of Darjeeling, Dante Katha (oral storytelling) is an interactive, mixed media retelling of folktales from the Eastern Himalayas, uncovering narratives lost in time – ones that hold geopolitical signi fcance – and reimagining dying traditions. Seen from the eyes of a girl whose little brother has recently gone missing, this flm chronicles her fantastical encounters with mysterious characters on her journey to fnd him.
