Seema Sharma Shah’s prints often incorporate deities from the Hindu and Buddhist pantheons. These works continue the long trajectory of philosophical and artistic exchanges between North India and Kathmandu. Drawing upon the varied vernacular expressions of Bhakti, Tantra, and Puranic episodes, she weaves these religious narratives in rich colours, cityscapes, and contemporary print techniques. Her experiments in utilising traditional motifs alongside contemporary approaches through viscosity printing has been a pioneering contribution to Nepal’s present aesthetic expressions.
